There is a story told that once a
prince visited King Solomon. During the visit, the
prince spoke to Solomon saying, "I know that
you are a great King, and wisdom is admired by us
all. Could you, I wonder, give me a motto that would
guide me through life?"
Solomon went to his treasury and brought
the prince a gold ring. "Look at the inside",
said the King. "And you will read something that
will help you through life, in times of trail and
times of success." The prince looked and read,
"EVEN THIS SHALL PASS AWAY"
